A bit of History...
ATSC is one of the few professional theatres in our state and was founded eight years ago by theatre, film and television veterans, Clarence Felder and Chris Weatherhead. Mr. Felder is originally from South Carolina. Included in their 40 successful productions since 1995, are 2: Goering At Nuremberg by Romulus Linney, Columbia playwright Kenneth Graham's play, A World Kicked to Pieces: Mary Boykin Chesnut on Love and War and Ms. Weatherhead's production of Whispers and Dreams: Voices of Carolina Slave Children which were all chosen to perform at the Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston (1997, 1998 & 2002). Ms. Weatherhead's new play, Mary Chesnut's War for Independence! has gained great acclaim in Charleston, Atlanta and Hilton head. ATSC trains actors and directors in summer/winter conservatory and has joined with the City of Folly Beach and The Folly Beach Arts and Crafts Guild to create The Folly Beach Fine Arts Community Center, to open in 2005.
ATSC is a professional non-profit, Actor's Equity Guest Artist Theatre company with a Professional Acting Conservatory, funded in part by The SC Arts Commission, which is funded in part by The National Endowment For The Arts, The SC Humanities Council, The City of Charleston, SCANA Corporation and The City of Folly Beach, SC
