History...
 Actors' Theatre of South Carolina [ATSC] is one of the few professional theatres in our state which also has a film division. It was founded 26 years ago by theatre, film and television entertainment veterans, Clarence Felder and Chris Weatherhead. 

Included in our 125 successful live theater productions since 1995, are...

"Frederick Douglass...No Turning Back", 
"Beethoven: His Women & Music", 2: Goering At Nuremberg"
"Southern Men""Whispers and Dreams: Voices of Carolina Slave Children",  and "PIRATES! The Revenge of Col. Rhett", 
"Rainbow of a Different Color," all chosen to perform at 
Piccolo Spoleto International Theatre Festival in Charleston.    

ATSC trains actors, writers and directors in professional theater and motion picture skills. 
Our film division, MOVING IMAGES GROUP has created two independent award-winning feature films and seven shorts:

 All For Liberty and John Laurens’ War, are both about extraordinary heroes of the American Revolution in South Carolina. These films have won nine international film awards.

new works by South Carolinians, training for professionals 
and projects about unsung heroes of the American Revolution

Received numerous rave reviews for the role of Hermann Goering in 2: GOERING AT NUREMBERG by Romulus Linney in highly successful runs OFF-BWY, in North Carolina and at The Actors' Theatre of SC in Camden, Piccolo Spoleto, and in Madison, Georgia.  

Mr. Felder has completed seven new adaptations 
of William Shakespeare's plays. ATSC received a 
major grant from South Carolina Humanities to 
produce the first two in his series,
 SHAKESPEARE FOR ALL, funded in part also 
by the Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelley Foundation.

OFF-BROADWAY: Created the role of The Wife in James Lapine’s smash hit, TABLE SETTINGS for which she garnered rave reviews (ran over two years)  -  also ORPHEUS DESCENDING, POINT OF ORIGIN, DEATH TAKES A HOLIDAY, TOP GIRLS, FROM HERE INSIDE MY HEAD, BELLE FEMME, LIFE UPON THE WICKED STAGE, REPORT TO THE STOCKHOLDERS, etc.

Co-Founded the Actors’ Theatre of South Carolina with husband, Clarence Felder, starring in 32 productions including, Rebecca Bewton Motte, in "Rebecca & The Fox", Mary Shelley in "Mary Shelley and The Creature of Fire", co-starring with Boo Sheppard in "Southern Men" and many others.

Many of Ms. Weatherhead’s productions have been chosen to go to Charleston’s Piccolo Spoleto International Festival, St. Thomas, US Virgin Island, The Madison Morgan Theatre Festival in Georgia, all to rave reviews.

REGIONAL PROFESSIONAL THEATRE: 
Chris performed major roles across the US, including Pheobe in AsYou Like It (Detroit), Imogin in Cymbeline and Elmire in Moliere’s, Tartuffe (N.J. Shakespeare Festival), Masha in The Three Sisters (SanFrancisco), Babakina in Ivanov (W/ Christopher Walken & Diane Weist @ Williamstown Theatre Festival in Mass.), Hypatia in G.B. Shaw’s Misalliance w/ Bill Pullman, Medea (Westbeth, NYC), , Curley’s Wife in Of Mice & Men w/ Tom Poston (Buck C. Playhouse), Jane in Absurd Person Singular and numerous others.

Chris taught Advanced Acting in New York City for 9 years and in Master Classes in various universities around the nation. Taught Advanced Acting in Los Angeles for 10 years 15 years in the MIdlands of SC and is currently teaching professionals in Charleston.
